Visiting Florence is always a nice way to spend a day outsite my local area.

I was missing from Florence for a couple of years I think but I may say nothing has changed! The city is still beautiful and full of people walking around, visiting historical places, taking pictures, eating ice-creams and listening to tourist guides.

We spent only about 7 hours there, we weren’t suppose to go there as tourits, running to see places, churches and museum, we just wanted to do a stroll in the main streets, hoping to have a sunny and warm day. Fortunately it was!

I did a small shopping… Florence is really full of nice shops and markets… You can’t miss them if you visit the city!

I hope you enjoyed my pictures ;)

Sicilian holidays: Castellammare del Golfo

by chiaweb

Also this summer my boyfriend and I went to Sicily for our holidays! 10 days of relax, visiting historical places and hot beaches.
In this post I’ll show you some pics taken in Castellammare del Golfo, a town in the north of Sicily, near the sea.

We stayed in a place called “Casale del Golfo” about 5 minutes by car from Castellammare. It’s an amazing place to relax and stay close to the nature. A refreshing pool is what you need after a hot day around Sicily and we enjoyed it a lot! There are also some beautiful horses and the restaurant offers good sicilian food. Pizza is also available to be eaten everyday and we had dinner there quite often.
Some pictures of Casale del Golfo:

My best holiday: Andalusia

by chiaweb

A couple of years ago my boyfriend and I did a fly&drive in Andalusia.

Despite the high temperature, we went in August. I suggest, if you can, to choose another month because it’s really hot there!

As more than a friend asked me about my trip, hotels, places to see, etc, I decided to post my information here so that everybody looking for some info about Andalusia can read them!

I must say that all the historical city centres are amazing, I just write the other places that can’t be missed!

GRANADA (2 nights)
Hotel Granada Centro http://www.hotelgranadacentro.com/
Alhambra  http://www.alhambra.org/ Suggestion: buy tickets on-line before leaving home! The queue is NEVERENDING!  BELIEVE ME!

Cordoba

Cordoba: Los Patios hotel

CORDOBA (1 night)
Hotel Los Patios http://www.lospatios.net/ it’s also a very good restaurant, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. Suggestion: Ask for SALMOREJO and BERENJENAS!!!

Nice beach and the famous Balcony of Europe http://www.thisisnerja.com/nerja/information2.php

Suggestions:

Car hiring
Don’t hire a car from the beginning of your stay. We landed in Granada and stayed there for 2 nights. We hired a car only after the stay there to go to the next city. You don’t need to hire a car to visit Granada!
Car parking
Always ask to the hotel receptions where to park, they could have discounts or tips for cheap parking.
Driving: driving there is really beautiful, no fees (except for the Malaga area) and amazing views!  Whatch out for the bullies shapes!
Tip: buy a white hat, the sun is really hot! Have a sista! Try to avoit going out between 2 and 4 p.m.: it is more dangerous than the night and it’s really warm.

If you have question please don’t hesitate to ask! Leave a comment and I’ll be really happy to reply!

A day at the beach

by chiaweb

Yesterday I spent a sunny and relaxing day at the beach with my mum. Must repeat it soon!
We also met some really big seagulls!
Abbiamo incontrato anche alcuni gabbiani davvero “in carne”!

I love spending some quality time with my parents :)

Wrong suitcase weekend

by chiaweb

Last weekend I went to Cattolica, a town on the seaside where I used to go on holidays with my parents when I was a child.
I packed my suitcase in the late evening before the departure and when I arrived at the hotel I realized that I did an awful suitcase! I brought some good things and other that I didn’t wear at all… I promise in the future I’ll always prepare my suitcase at leat the day before leaving!

I had some nice things to wear during daytime but almost nothing for the nights! So I tried to do my best… you can see some pictures taken during the weekend:

Avevo alcune cose carine da mettere per il giorno e per andare in spiaggia ma niente di particolare per la sera! Quindi ho fatto del mio meglio… ecco alcune foto scattate nel weekend:

Etna

by Chiara

Etna is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and it is in an almost constant state of activity.

We went under the volcano, inside a cave made by the lava. The entrance was really small because of the recent activity of the volcano and it was a bit dangerous because it could erupt anytime! The guide told us that was probably the last time he visited that cave…

We are coming!

Here we are at the top!

Some cold lava

It was really challenging going  up, I had no breathe! The top of the mount is at  3,329 metres (10,922 ft)!

I had a great experience and I hope I’ll be able to visit the other side in the future.

Taormina

by Chiara

I went to Taormina on the 15th of August with my boyfriend.
Taormina is a beautiful sicilian city,  a very popular tourist destination. The main sight  is “ The ancient theatre” a beautiful greek theatre.
We had dinner at “Il Baccanale” a typical sicilian restaurant in a small square off the main street. We ate outside and it was really nice, but I recommend to give a look at the inside as well.
Here are some pics that we took in Taormina:

Sono stata a Taormina il 15 Agosto col mio ragazzo.
Taormina è una citta siciliana bellissima, una destinazione turistica molto popolare. Il luogo più bello è “Il Teatro Antico” un bellissimo teatro grego.
Abbiamo cenato a “Il Baccanale” un ristorante tipico siciliano in una piazzetta vicino alla strada principale. Abbiamo mangiato fuori ed è stato molto carino, ma consiglio di dare un’occhiata anche all’interno.
Ecco alcune foto fatte a Taormina:

A place that I love.

I used to go there every summer with my parents and when I can I go there for some days. It feels like home.

I love everything: the places, the food, the people, the landscapes.
